Sticky Tickets offers discounted booking & payment fees for eligible group ticket purchases, reducing the per-ticket cost for buyers and making your event more attractive for group bookings.
There are two group ticket types that offer fee savings:
- Group Ticket (and Group Reserved Seat) — a fixed bundle where you set the group size and price.
- Open Group Ticket — the buyer selects their own quantity, within the minimum and maximum you set.
Group Ticket vs Open Group Ticket — which should I use?

Standard Booking & Payment Fee Pricing Schedule
Before looking at group examples, it helps to understand the standard booking & payment fee that applies to individual tickets. This fee covers all merchant and credit card costs and includes GST. There is no booking & payment fee for free events or cash transactions.

How the group discount works
Group Ticket, Group Reserved Seating, and Open Group Ticket purchases all receive a discount on the booking & payment fee, calculated automatically. No promotional codes or manual setup required.
Example 1 — Group Ticket under $150 total
Scenario: A Group Ticket bundle of 10 tickets at $30 each (total: $300).

Step 1 — Find the per-head price and its fee tier: $300 ÷ 10 = $30 per head, which falls in the $25.00–$49.99 tier → $2.50 booking & payment fee per ticket.

Example 2 — Group Ticket over $150 total
Scenario: A Group Ticket bundle of 4 tickets at $150 each (total: $600).
Step 1 — Find the per-head price and its fee tier: $600 ÷ 4 = $150 per head, which falls in the "$150 and above" tier → formula is $1.50 + 2% of $150 = $4.50 per ticket.
Step 2 — Multiply by group size: $4.50 x 4 = $18.00
Step 3 — Deduct 10%: $18.00 - $1.80 = $16.40

Scenario: Buyer selects 8 tickets at $640.
Step 1 — Find the per-ticket price: $80, which falls in the $50.00–$99.99 tier → $3.50 per ticket.
Step 2 — Multiply by quantity: $3.50 × 8 = $28.00
Step 3 — Deduct 10%: $28.00 - $2.80 = $25.20

Example 4 — Open Group Ticket, total over $150
Scenario: Buyer selects 8 tickets at $160 each (total order: $1280).
Step 1 - Find the per-head price: From the pricing table, a $160 ticket falls in the $150 and above tier: booking & payment fee = $1.50 + 2% per ticket.
Step 2 - Multiply by quantity: 2% of $160 (ticket price) + $1.50 = $4.70 (booking & payment fee per ticket). 8 x $4.70 = $37.6
Step 3 - Deduct 10% discount: $37.6 - 10% = $33.84
