How to Add Images and Video to Your Event Description
Upload or link images and embed video directly into your event description to make your event page more engaging.
You can add images and video directly into your event description using the toolbar in the description editor. Images can be uploaded from your computer or linked from a URL. Videos must be embedded using an embed code from a video hosting platform such as YouTube or Vimeo.
Before you start — open your event description
- Go to My Events and select the event you want to edit.
- Click the Edit Event tab. (If your event is still pending, you'll land on the Edit Event page automatically.)
- Click on the Description section to open the editor.
The description toolbar appears at the top of the editor. Look for the image icon and video icon in the toolbar.

Adding an image
Option A — Upload from your computer
- Click inside the description box where you want the image to appear.
- Click the image icon in the toolbar.
- Click Browse or Choose File and select the image from your computer.
- Supported formats: JPEG, PNG, and GIF
- Recommended size: 500 × 500px. If your image is larger, it will be automatically resized to fit.
- Wait for the upload to complete, then click Insert.
Option B — Link from a URL
Use this option if your image is already hosted on a website.
- Click inside the description box where you want the image to appear.
- Click the image icon in the toolbar.
- Click the Link button.
- Enter the full image URL (e.g. https://example.com/image.jpg) and click Insert.
Note: If you link to an image from another website, the image will stop displaying if that website removes or moves the file. For reliability, upload the image directly from your computer using Option A instead.

Adding a Video
Videos must be embedded using an embed code — a short snippet of code provided by the video hosting platform. The video file itself is not uploaded to Sticky Tickets.
- Click inside the description box where you want the video to appear.
- Click the video icon in the toolbar.
- In the popup window, paste the embed code from your video platform.
- Click Insert.

How to get the embed code from YouTube
- Go to YouTube and find your video.
- Click Share below the video.
- Click Embed.
- Copy the embed code shown (it starts with
<iframe). - Paste it into the Sticky Tickets video popup and click Insert.
Using other video platforms
Most video hosting platforms (Vimeo, Wistia, etc.) provide embed codes in a similar way — look for a Share or Embed option on the video. Copy the embed code and paste it into the Sticky Tickets video popup.
Video on your computer? Upload it to YouTube or Vimeo first (you can set it to unlisted if you don't want it publicly searchable), then use the embed code from that platform.
Most common scenarios and questions
My image isn't displaying after I inserted it.
- If you used a URL: check that the image URL is still active and publicly accessible. Open the URL in a browser to confirm. If the image has been removed from the source website, download it and re-upload using Option A instead.
- If you uploaded from your computer: confirm the file format is JPEG, PNG, or GIF. Other formats are not supported.
My video isn't displaying.
- Check that you pasted the complete embed code — it should start with
<iframeand end with</iframe>. Partial codes won't work. - Make sure the video is set to public or unlisted on the hosting platform. Private videos cannot be embedded.
The image appears too large or too small.
-
You may be able to resize the image by clicking on it in the description editor and dragging the corner handles. If the editor doesn't support resizing, resize the image on your computer before uploading.
My file upload failed.
-
Check that the file is in JPEG, PNG, or GIF format. Other formats (e.g. WEBP, HEIC) are not supported. If the format is correct and the upload still fails, try reducing the file size.
Can I embed videos from platforms other than YouTube?
-
Yes — any platform that provides an embed code (such as Vimeo) can be used. Copy the embed code from the platform and paste it into the video popup in the description editor.
Can I remove an image or video after inserting it?
-
Yes — click on the image or video in the description editor to select it, then press the Delete or Backspace key on your keyboard.
Will the images and videos appear on mobile devices?
-
Yes — the event description is responsive and images and videos will display on both desktop and mobile browsers.
What image formats are supported?
-
JPEG, PNG, and GIF. Other formats are not supported for upload. If you're linking from a URL, the image on the source website must also be in a web-compatible format.
