What Does It Cost to Run an Event on Sticky Tickets?
Understand the booking & pricing fee, when it applies, and how to decide who pays it.
Sticky Tickets operates on a pay-per-use model — there are no setup fees, no monthly subscriptions, no hidden fees, and no charge for creating an account or publishing an event. You only pay a booking & pricing fee when tickets are sold on a paid event. This fee covers all associated merchant and credit card processing costs.
Core Fees
Booking & pricing fee. A booking & pricing fee is charged per ticket sold on paid events. The fee is calculated as a percentage of the ticket price.
For the current booking & pricing fee schedule, visit: stickytickets.com.au or contact our support team.
Free events: No booking & pricing fees are charged when ticket purchasers register for a free event.
Who pays the booking & pricing fee?
You choose. When creating or editing a ticket, you can:
| Option | How it works |
| Pass the fee to ticket purchasers (default) | The booking & pricing fee is added on top of your ticket price at checkout. Ticket purchasers see the fee as a separate line item. You receive your full ticket price. |
| Absorb the fee yourself | Tick Include Booking & pricing Fee in the Price on the ticket. Ticket purchasers see one all-inclusive price. The booking & pricing fee is deducted from your ticket sales. |
Tip: Ticking "Include Booking & pricing Fee in the Price" creates a cleaner checkout experience and avoids ticket purchasers being surprised by an additional fee at the final step.
Other fees to be aware of
| Fee | When it applies | Amount |
| American Express surcharge | When a ticket purchaser pays with Amex | 1.5% of the transaction — paid by the ticket purchaser |
| Refund retained fee | When a ticket or event is refunded | 1.5% or $1.00 per transaction, whichever is greater |
| Split payments fee | When you split revenue with a third party | $2.00 per payment transaction to the third party |
| Pre-release of funds (PRF) fee | When you access ticket sales before your event | $49 (or $12.50 per invoice for invoice payment option) |

Most Common Scenario and Questions
Is there a monthly fee or subscription to use Sticky Tickets?
-
No — there are no setup fees, subscription fees, or ongoing charges. You only pay when tickets are sold on a paid event.
What happens to the booking & pricing fee if a ticket is refunded?
-
The booking & pricing fee is subject to the refund retained fee — 1.5% or $1.00 (whichever is greater) per transaction is retained and not returned to the ticket purchaser or organiser. See: How to cancel tickets and issue refunds as an organiser.
Can I see the booking & pricing fee before I publish my event?
-
Yes — when you set a ticket price in the ticket creation form, the system automatically shows you the Net amount (what you receive), the Fee (booking & pricing fee), and the Cost to buyer (total price including fee).
Does the booking & pricing fee apply to offline ticket sales?
-
For credit card offline payments, the standard booking & pricing fee applies. For cash, cheque, direct deposit, or no-charge offline transactions, no booking & pricing fee is automatically applied — though you have the option to add the fee amount to the ticket price if you choose. See: Offline ticket sales — how to process a sale.
What is the American Express surcharge?
-
A 1.5% surcharge applies when a ticket purchaser pays with American Express. This is paid by the ticket purchaser, not the organiser.
